Product Selection
In youth sports fundraising, it’s very important to choose the right product to sell. Selection of the right is one that has mass appeal, a point above the average price, and good profit margins.

Do not sell what always sold every year. Consider to choose items that meet the criteria below.

Product Price Point
Offer your product should be at an attractive price point. This means it must not high nor low, but more precise in the comfort zone that encourages people to open their wallets.

If you sell products at cheap prices, you are at a disadvantage because you do not maximize your income from each prospect. In this situation, try a small amount of bundling together and ask for more dollars.

For example, if the candy that sells for $ 1 each, collecting a variety of three-pack or family pack of ten. Get your prospects to think bigger numbers. Many of them will step into the bundle.

Product Profitability
It’s important that your fundraising products have high profit margins. Ideally, you want to make 80% or more if you can. It will be a product such as a discount card for two-for-one deal at a fast food place.

Many standard items have a profit margin of 50% and that’s OK. It simply means that you have to pump up the volume to make the same net that you would with a higher profit items.

If the product chosen is one with a variety of lower profits, say 40%, then it needs to either become more expensive items or orders must be possible to inspire the number of each prospect. For example, cookie dough often in this range, but the price points are $ 10 & up. Many families will buy two or three units.

Sales Script
Do not send a salesman out ready. Part of youth sports is to teach and help children with their sales skills goes a long way toward building confidence.

Here’s what to tell them:
1 – Make eye contact, smile and introduce yourself.
2 – Let’s say one sentence about why you are raising funds.
3 – Tell the second sentence that asks for their help.
4 – Make sure that the sentence including the word “because”.
5 – Extend sample item, catalog, or order sheets.
6 – Suggest a personal favorite item or bundle.
7 – Always ask for the order.

Now your kids know what to say, they must have the prospects to their sales pitch. You can not set sales records without having a huge inventory of prospective customers.

Have everyone make their lists of potential customers. Did they do it as a practice team and make sure they write it down. It’s very important to do this and every seller has a public commitment to do their part.

Does every salesman standing in front of their teammates and state how many prospects they have. Then have them make a commitment to improve certain financial amount. Set the minimum and encourage competition by offering prizes for different levels of achievement.

Location, Location, Location
Another way to improve your youth sports fundraising is to go where the prospects. Your group can achieve astounding number of people simply by setting up fundraiser sales desk at the entrance to the high-traffic retail locations.

Grocery stores, home improvement stores, mass merchandisers and all places where hundreds of prospects that are available. Get permission well in advance of the store manager.

Set up a small table to display your products fundraising items. The staff your place with two adults and two children for each 90-minute shifts.

Decorate the area with league banners and large-lettered signs explaining your offer. Signs you have to tell them well before reaching the display and sales tables. That way, those interested in helping the team sports you will be primed to stop and be more receptive to hear the sales pitch of each young man.

Always make fun fundraising for the children. Their emotions are unconsciously communicated to every potential prospect.

If they smile cheerfully while communicating the needs of your team and ask for help, then chances are good they will get good response.

If they looked down and mumbled some garbled sales spiel, then chances are more people will deliver the offer. The way to get them involved is to have some competition going, have some fun activities built around the process, and have some awards waiting for success.

For example, list post at any team practice top sellers. Everyone likes to be recognized!

Do a fun activity just for those who help with work on site retail sales tables. Take the participants bowling or to the cage or driving range hitting golf. It will bond father and son, and encourage increased participation.
